California public school families! Join us for the 2nd annual CALIFORNIA CHILDREN’S RALLY on the front steps of the Sacramento Capitol 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2009! We’ll bring our kids to visit their legislators again and parade the 100-kid kazoo band, what art/music/protest will YOU bring? (And yes, we’ll be camping again in Cool, although the baby goats have grown.)

What is the California Children’s Rally?
Write us at magnetyentas@cs.com to request a viewing of Bob Niemack’s new documentary “Burning Mom.”

Welcome, weary web traveller!

Hey traveller, put down that www.http:yahoo/google/netflix.com satchel and draw up a virtual stool. So, what would you like to do today?

Would you like to while away some time listening to public radio commentaries...for free?  Why not? Life is tedious! You deserve it!

Go directly to:

http://marketplace.org  for "The Loh Down" or  http://kpcc.org  for "The Loh Life"  (weekly updates from the middle brow of Van Nuys) or "The Loh Down on Science" (your regular one-minute "1 a Day" vitamin of SCIENCE).

Apparently, in those places, there is even podcasting available. I myself don’t know from pods, so I bid you a hearty "Good luck with that."

Or is it some personal/professional misfortune that has washed you up on the (as you’ll soon see, surprisingly) shallow beaches of SandraTsingLoh.com? Perhaps you’re a college student assigned a research paper on some grim topic like "Asian-American female writers over the age of 40" and Amy Tan was already taken. And perhaps you’re a slacker who leaves things for the last minute, thinking: "The night before, I’ll just google around for some Wikipedia-ish website thingy and grab a buncha stuff from there."

Or perhaps you’re a PR person who needs a semi-recent photo. Or maybe you have VISA in hand and a burning, uncontrollable urge to purchase something of mine, a book or a CD. But what are the titles?

Once again, you’ve struck oil!  Click here for "CURRENT BIO" to find stuff you need to know.

Or perhaps you are a person who has recently entered that Ring of Hell known as LA Parenthood. Which is to say, you are hysterical about SCHOOLS!!! Click here for my Scandalously Informal Guide to the Los Angeles Unified School District.  Click. Quickly, hysterically!

And now, a Brief Note on Blogs and E-Mail:

Perhaps you have an urge to read a lively blog. Great news! The Internet is full of blogs--apparently all you have to do is Google "blog" and you can read wonderfully amusing things for literally hours. As for me, I am a person whose inner thoughts are perhaps already TOO well-known (see above). On the radio, even my children howl in protest when my voice comes on. So sorry...from me, no blogging.

Or perhaps you’d like to send me some e-mail...sorry, but NO. My desk is a volcano of DWP bills, unread books, and Hello Kitty stickers smeared with (what I hope is) old strawberry jam. Let us meet instead at some festive public gathering and share a civilized beverage. When are these? We’ll figure out how to post these...Soon.
